A three dimensional textile artwork that relates to treated animal skins, and embodies the quest for flowing double curved surfaces in contemporary design. The code and the curve join forces to a series of works that examines the generation of a breathing and organic visual, through digital design and fabrication. The snake’s shedding of skin is translated, from a hand drawing through to a digital parametric design, interfering biological time with digital one. The digital pattern, based on complex-curved virtual surface geometry, goes through final manual elaboration, by its coloured interpretation and final graphic touches. Through the piece, the textile surface turns thinner and paler, like the snake’s own skin through the shedding process.
